Conference on Nagios & Open Source Monitoring in Bolzano Italy
op5 is joining the Conference on Nagios and OSS Monitoring, hosted by Würth-Phoenix in Bolzano, Italy, on May 20th. A number of interesting speakers will make presentations, among others Ethan Galstad (The Nagios founder) and Michael Medin (NSClient++), read more about the event at http://www.wuerth-phoenix.com/en/company/event/nagios-event/
op5 will contribute with two speakers, our CEO, Jan Josephson , will talk about how opensource based solutions, particularly Nagios, are closing in and becoming a real alternative to the ‘big four’. I will also give a speech, presenting our work on Merlin and Ninja and how these projects can help making Nagios an even more awesome tool. We look forward to this event which will give us the opportunity to spread the word about the great tools we develop at op5. Also it will be very interesting to meet people from the Italian (and probably German) community aswell as getting an update from the various opensource projects that will be presented.
Merlin and Ninja stable releases
We are done! After little over a year of development we now have stable releases of both Merlin and Ninja. It has been a lot of hard work over the year for many people at op5 and especially the devel crew have done an amazing job and invested so much time to make this happen. You find tarball downloads at www.op5.org. This is a major milestone for op5 and we are very exited about the future and can’t wait to get input from Nagios users out there.
These two releases also form the base for op5 Monitor 5.0 which was made publicly available yesterday (Tuesday april 13). This is the biggest release in op5 history and I feel confident that it is also the highest quality release we have made. So if you are a op5 user or customer, make sure you upgrade and take advantage of the powerfull new gui.
